My 14th guest on Inside the Runner's Mind is an outstanding triathlete and Ironman – and one of Canada’s finest chiropractors and Active Release Technique (A.R.T.) specialists: Dr. Rob Nielsen.

Rob graduated from UBC with a kinesiology degree in 1985, before heading to Toronto to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. He's since become a certified provider and lead A.R.T. instructor at his practices in Guildford, Surrey and Vancouver.

Since 2000, Rob's been treating the BC Lions' squad on a weekly basis -- celebrating a pair of Grey Cup wins with the team -- plus a cavalcade of elite athletes in a wide variety of sports.

As an avid triathlete, Rob’s competed internationally at age group level -- racing at the World Championships in 1998, 1999 and 2002. In 2013, fresh from turning 50, he plans to race the event again in London -- on this year's Summer Olympics course.

A three-time Ironman, Rob's also been part of the treatment team providing A.R.T. to competitors at the Ironman Canada in Penticton since 1999, and will be so again for IMC 2012 in two weeks' time.
